HAFLONG: Around one hundred beneficiaries under various departments from Dima Hasao participated at the Garib Kalyan Sammelan organized across the country. The programme here was organized at the district headquarters, Haflong at the CEM's conference hall where Chief Executive Member of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa participated along with Executive Members Samuel Changsan, Golonjo Thaosen, Dy Chairman Bimol Hojai and Haflong MAC Daniel Langthasa.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly interacted with six beneficiaries from Leh Ladakh, Bihar, West Tripura, Karnataka, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh through video conference from Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The elated beneficiaries interacted with the Prime Minister through online mode in presence of the entire nation sharing their experience and giving feedback to the nation's Prime Minister directly.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, also participated in this event from Sivasagar where thousands of people gathered at the Gargaon College playground. From Haflong CEM Debolal Gorlosa along with the Executive Members, Principal Secretary Thai Tsho Daulugupu, ACS, Dy. Secretary Rebecca Changsan, ACS , Project Director Megonjoy Thaosen, ACS, officers of various departments and Lead Bank manager who attended the virtual meeting through video conference.

CEM Gorlosa spoke to the beneficiaries from Dima Hasao not to hesitate to come forward with any doubts and confusion about any schemes offered by the government. He also requested the banks to support and be more considerate with the public of this district as many are hesitant and shy away from approaching the officials at the banks. The lead manager noted the point and conveyed that the same will be addressed to the banks for better service and accessibility for the local people.
